Akoustic Odyssey now have their own YouTube channel and have uploaded their very first video.

The band plays "Odyssey" live at EMT's warehouse studio as an experiment in recording "live in the studio". As this clip shows, the technique is one that suits the band well, capturing the dynamics and the energy of their sound. They had a bit of fun too!

Akoustic Odyssey make an impression at the National Folk Festival in Canberra!

Akoustic Odyssey are thrilled to have traveled to the nation's capital over the Easter weekend to play at the National Folk Festival. The band played three performances over the three days, with guitarists Josh and Alex (with the help of the entire band) conducting a guitar technique workshop while there.

Thrilled to have taken part in the country's most prestigious and high profile Folk music event, the band were very pleased to have reached a wider audience with their music. With a national tour on the cards for later this year and recording soon to begin for the band's 3rd album, 2009 is shaping up to be an important and busy year for the band.

Akoustic Odyssey rock at WOMADelaide!
Akoustic Odyssey played to large (estimated 5,000 people) and enthusiastic crowd at WOMADelaide on March 7th. Taking to the beautiful Moreton Bay Stage at 5pm, they played an energetic and exciting set that had a group of younger and very enthusiastic WOMADelaideans on their feet and dancing the whole time. Not to mention the more sedate, toe tapping, and very vocal remainder of the crowd that seemed to stretch on right up to the distant fence line!

The WOMADelaide crowd showed their recognition and appreciation for the energy, the compositions and the musicianship. The performace was a fantastic experience for all, and most likely a taste of bigger things to come for the group!
